Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Kyle Turris
Kyle Turris was born August 14, 1989 in New Westminster, British Columbia. The first round, third overall draft pick of the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Turris honed his skills with the Burnaby Express of the British Columbia Hockey League.

A skilled forward with great playmaking ability, Turris was named MVP of the BCHL in 2007 after he led his club with a staggering 121 points in 53 games. He attended the University of Wisconsin the following year and led the Badgers in scoring with 36 points, despite missing four games due to the World Juniors Tournament. After signing a contract with the club that had originally drafted the New Westminster native, Turris appeared in three games with the Coyotes, collecting an assist.

After five seasons in the Coyotes organization, Turris was traded to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for David Runblad and a second round draft pick. In his first season in Ottawa, Turris would record 26 goals and add 32 assists for 58 points. He followed that up with a career-high 64-point campaign in 2014-15, which included 40 assists. In 2016-17, Turris set a new career high with 27 goals and added 28 assists for 55 points.

On November 5, 2017, Turris' time in Ottawa would come to an end. He was traded to the Nashville Predators as part of a three team deal that saw the Senators acquire Matt Duchene.

On the international stage, Turris led Team Canada in scoring en route to capturing a gold medal at the 2008 World Junior Championships.
