Tim Sestito was born on August 28, 1984 in Rome, New York. Prior to a trade that sent him from the Edmonton Oilers system to that of the New Devils, Sesitto was the captain of the Springfield Falcons of the AHL.

On November 22, 2008, Sestito was called up to the Edmonton Oilers to make his regular season NHL debut. He played his first game on November 26, 2008 against the Los Angeles Kings.
