Keith Yandle was born September 9, 1986 in Boston, Massachusetts. The fourth round, 105th overall selection of the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Yandle is a graduate of the QMJHL's Moncton Wildcats.
In his only year of junior hockey, the highly skilled defenseman led the CHL in scoring with 28 goals and 58 assists for 84 points and was named the Canadian Major Junior Defenseman of the Year. The next season he made his professional debut with the Coyotes to start the season, but shortly after, was sent to the club's AHL affiliate in San Antonio for development.
In the 2010-11 season, Yandle would emerge as one of the top offensive defenceman in the game. Suiting up in all 82 games for the Coyotes, he set career-highs in goals, assists and points, with 11, 48 and 59 respectively.
After nine seasons with the Coyotes, which included All-Star Game appearances in 2011 and 2012, Yandle was traded along with Chris Summers and a fourth round draft pick to the New York Rangers for John Moore, Anthony Duclair, and a first and second round draft pick.
Yandle would finish the season with the Rangers and appear in all 82 games for the club the following season before being on the move again. On June 20, 2016, he was traded to the Florida Panthers in exchange for a pair of draft picks.
