Keith Yandle was born September 9, 1986 in Boston, Massachusetts. The fourth round, 105th overall selection of the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Yandle is a graduate of the QMJHL's Moncton Wildcats.
In his only year of junior hockey, the highly skilled defenseman led the CHL in scoring with 28 goals and 58 assists for 84 points and was named the Canadian Major Junior Defenseman of the Year. The next season he made his processional debut with the Coyotes to start the season, but shortly after, was sent to the club's AHL affiliate in San Antonio for development.
Yandle played nine seasons for the Coyotes, which includes All-Star Game appearances in 2011 and 2012. Prior to the 2015 trade deadline, Yandle, along with Chris Summers and a fourth round draft pick was traded to the New York Rangers for John Moore, Anthony Duclair, and a first and second round draft pick.
