Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Cody Bass
Cody Bass was born January 7, 1987 in Owen Sound, Ontario. The fourth round, 95th overall selection of the Ottawa Senators in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Bass honed his skills with the Mississauga IceDogs of the Ontario Hockey League.

A solid defenseman, Bass improved in each year of his junior career in Mississauga and emerged as an offensive threat in just his third season. His improvements earned him a late call-up audition with the Senators AHL affiliate in Binghamton after the IceDogs failed to reach the playoffs in 2005-06. After the IceDogs dealt Bass to the Saginaw Spirit, he went on to nearly average a point per game and returned to Binghamton for five games.

In 2007-08, Bass moved up to the professional ranks and went on to split his season with Ottawa and Binghamton. He competed in his first career NHL game on December 15, 2007.

On July 13, 2011, Bass's time with Ottawa would come to an end. He signed as a free agent with the Columbus Blue Jackets. After two seasons in the Blue Jackets' organization, Bass was once again a free agent in the summer of 2014. This time he inked a deal with the Chicago Blackhawks and joined the club's AHL affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs, for the 2014-15 season.

A free agent again in 2015, Bass signed with the Nashville Predators on July 4, 2015.
