Guillaume Latendresse was born May 24th, 1987 in Ste. Catherine, Quebec. Selected by the Montreal Canadiens, 2nd round, 45th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Latendresse is a graduate of the QMJHLs Drummondville Voltigeurs.
A solid power forward, Latendresse played three solid seasons with the Voltigeurs and racked up 210 points. Following an outstanding junior career, Latendresse impressed Canadiens' coach Guy Carbonneau and General Manager Bob Gainey enough to earn a roster spot and a three-year contract.
In his first full season, Latendresse led all NHL Rookies in hits and was a regular in the Canadien line-up through 80 games.
