Andrew Cogliano was born June 14, 1987 in Toronto, Ontario. The first round, 25th overall selection by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft is a graduate of the University of Michigan.

A speedy and gifted forward, Cogliano opted to leave Michigan early to join the Oilers for the 2007-08 regular season. The move proved to workout for Cogliano, as a member of the Oilers through 82 games he scored 18 goals, 27 assists and was the league's sixth highest scoring rookie. He even established a new NHL record for most consecutive games scoring an overtime game-winning goal, with his third consecutive vs. St Louis on March 11, 2008.

On the international stage, Cogliano has twice represented his homeland at the World Junior Championships.

On July 12, 2011, Cogliano was traded to the Anaheim Ducks by Edmonton for Anaheim's 2nd round choice in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

During the 2013-14 season, Cogliano would record a career-high 21 goals. He matched that with 21 assists and his 42 points were his most since his rookie season.
