Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Jack Skille
Jack Skille was born May 19, 1987 in Madison, Wisconsin. The first round, seventh overall choice of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Skille honed his skills at the University of Wisconsin.

A speedy winger, Skille played on the University of Wisconsin's NCAA Championship squad in 2005-06 and returned to the line-up the following year. Skille posted 18 points in 26 games with the Badgers in his final season with the club. Just after the Badgers season concluded, Skille signed with the Norfolk Admirals, the AHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks. He went on to see action in nine games with the Admirals and split his 2007-08 between the Hawks new AHL affiliate in Rockford and Chicago.

On February 9, 2011, Skille's time in Chicago would come to an end. He was shipped to the Florida Panthers along with Hugh Jessiman and David Pacan in exchange for Michael Frolik and the rights to goaltender Alexander Salak.

After three seasons in Florida, Skille signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets to a one year deal. Skille split the seasons with the AHL's Springfield Falcons and the Blue Jackets, where he appeared in 16 games with four goals.

When free agency started in July 2014, he signed a one year contract with the New York Islanders. However, on October 5, 2014, the Columbus Blue Jackets claimed their former player off waivers.

At the conclusion of the 2014-15 season, Skille signed a tryout contract with the Colorado Avalanche on September 16, 2015. He impressed enough where they would sign him to a one year contract on October 6, 2015. After a single season with Colorado, Skille was once again a free agent. This time he signed with the Vancouver Canucks prior to the 2016-17 season.
