Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Patrick Kaleta
Patrick Kaleta was born June 8, 1986 in Buffalo New York. Drafted by his hometown Sabres in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, sixth round, 176th overall, Keleta is a graduate of the OHL's Peterborough Petes. At the time of his draft, Kaleta was only the third Buffalo-Fort Erie area resident to play for the hometown Sabres in a regular season game.

In four seasons with the Peterborough Petes, Kaleta compiled 147 points and helped his club earn a spot in the 2006 Memorial Cup. After his junior career, he made his professional hockey debut with the Rochester Americans in 2006-07. During that season, the Buffalo, New York native appeared in his first game for his hometown Sabres on February 22, 2007.

In Buffalo, Kaleta established himself as a gritty and determined forward. His knack for getting under opponents skin made him one the best agitators in the game. In 2008-09 and 2009-10 he put up consecutive seasons of 89 penalty minutes.
