Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Brandon Prust
Brandon Prust was born March 16, 1984 in London, Ontario. The third round, 70th overall selection of the Calgary Flames in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Prust is a graduate of the OHL's London Knights.

A hard nosed player who never takes a night off, Prust's three years in London were capped with the club's remarkable Memorial Cup Championship in 2005. He made his professional debut with the Flames' AHL affiliate in Omaha and spent the entire season with the club. The following season, Prust would make his NHL debut appearing in a November 1, game against the Detroit Red Wings.

On March 4, 2009, the NHL trade deadline, the gritty forward was traded to the Phoenix Coyotes as part of a package of players and draft picks that saw the Flames acquire Olli Jokinen, though in an interesting twist he was sent back to Calgary in exchange for Jim Vandermeer in the summer of 2009.

On February 2, 2010, Prust was on the move again. This time he was sent along with Olli Jokinen to the New York Rangers in exchange for Ales Kotalik and Christopher Higgins.

During the 2012 offseason, Prust was signed to a four year contract by the Montreal Canadiens.

After three seasons with the Canadiens, which included an appearance in the Eastern Conference Final, Prust was traded to the Vancouver Canucks on July 1, 2015 for Zack Kassian and a fifth round draft pick.
