Chris Bourque was born January 29, 1986 in Boston, Massachusetts. The second round draft pick of the Washington Capitals in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Bourque is the son of the Honoured Member and former Bruin's legend Ray Bourque.
A highly skilled centreman, Bourque spent two seasons at with the Cushing Academy Penguins prior to his one-year stint at the University of Boston. After a steady year in Boston, Bourque made his professional hockey debut with the Portland Pirates of the AHL and in six games he scored two points.
