Rob Schremp was born July 1, 1986 in Syracuse New York. Edmonton's 2nd choice, 25th overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Schremp is a graduate of the OHLs Mississauga Ice Dogs & London Knights.

A creative player with the puck, Schremp broke into the OHL in 2002-03 and was named the leauge's Rookie of the Year after tallying 75 points in 65 games. The following season Schremp was dealt to London for two players and two second round draft picks. As a member of the London Knights, Schremp would help the Knights capture the 2005 Memorial Cup and become one of the most dominant junior teams in history. He would follow up that remarkable season by leading the OHL in points with 145 in 2005-06.

Schremp made his professional hockey debut for the Oilers' AHL affilaite in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Later that year he appeared in his frist NHL game as a member of the Edmonton Oilers on April 5, 2007.

After spending the majority of his time in the Oilers organization in the American Hockey League, he was waived by the club in September of 2009 and subsequently claimed by the New York Islanders. During the 2009-10 season, Schremp would show signs of offensive potential, putting up an impressive 25 points in 44 games.

The next season would not be as kind to Schremp. Though his offensive play continued to be strong, he was waived by the Islanders on February 26, 2011 and picked up by the Atlanta Thrashers.
