Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Kyle Chipchura
Kyle Chipchura was born February 19, 1986 in Westlock Alberta. The first round, 18th overall selection on the Montreal Canadiens in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Chipchura spent four years of his junior hockey career in the Western Hockey League with the Prince Albert Raiders.

A strong two-way centre, Chipchura capped off a four year stint in the WHL by leading his club in scoring while the Westlock, Alberta native served as captain. Earlier in the season, Chipchura led Team Canada's World Junior entry as captain to a gold medal. He made his professional hockey debut in 2006-07 with the Hamilton Bulldogs. That season, Chipchura appeared in 80 regular-season games for the Bulldogs and helped the team to its first ever championship by tallying 13 points in 22 playoff games.

Chipchura made his NHL debut on October 10, 2007 in a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. He went on to split his season between the Habs and their AHL affiliate in Hamilton that season.

On December 2, 2009, his time in Montreal would come to an end. He was traded to the Anaheim Ducks for a fourth-round pick in 2011.

On July 19, 2011, Chipchura signed a one year contract with the Phoenix Coyotes.
