Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Junior Lessard
Junior Lessard was born May 26, 1980 in St. Joseph de Beauce, Quebec. A free-agent signing by the Dallas Stars in the spring of 2004, Lessard spent four seasons at the University of Minnesota-Duluth before making his professional debut in 2004-05.

An offensively gifted forward, Lessard spent four seasons at UMD posting 142 points (74-68-142) while capturing the Hobey Baker Award as the nation's top collegiate player in 2004. Lessard went on to lead the nation in both goals (32) and points (63) in his senior year.

In the fall of 2004 Lessard made his professional debut with the AHL's Houston Aeros before making his NHL debut with Dallas in 2005-06. Despite making his debut with the Stars, Lessard spent the majority of the season with the AHLs Iowa Stars. He continued to hone his skills with the Dallas Stars' AHL affiliate over the next two seasons before he was dealt to the Tampa Bay Lightning on January 15, 2008.
