Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Randy Jones
Randy Jones was born July 23, 1981 in Quispamsis, New Brunswick. A free agent signing by the Philadelphia Flyers in the summer of 2003, Jones is a graduate of the OPJHLs Cobourg Cougars.

After two seasons with Cobourg, Jones enrolled at Clarkson University in the fall of 2001 and played two seasons with the club, capturing ECAC All-Rookie Team honours in his freshman year and was named First Team All-ECAC after becoming the first Clarkson defenceman to lead his team in scoring with 33 points in 33 games. Over the course of his two years at Clarkson, Jones tallied 55 points (22-33-55) before foregoing his final two seasons with the club to sign with the Philadelphia Flyers.

In his first season as a pro, Jones continued to put up solid numbers with the AHLs Philadelphia Phantoms, finishing the season with 32 points (8-24-32) and was rewarded in the latter stages of the 2003-04 season, when he was called up by the Flyers. During the NHL lockout, Jones returned to the Phantoms where he would capture a Calder Cup championship. After splitting his 2005-06 season between the Flyers and the Phantoms, Jones became a regular in the club's struggling line-up in 2006-07.

On August 25, 2010, after appearing in 48 games for the Kings in 2009-10, Jones signed a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
