Jeremy Colliton was born April 16, 1985 in Blackie, Alberta. The second round, 58th overall selection of the New York Islanders in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Colliton honed his skills in the WHL as a member of the Prince Albert Raiders.

A solid forward, Colliton played four seasons in Prince Albert registering 176 points (71-105-176) before making his professional debut with the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the fall of 2005. After a strong start to his season in the AHL, the Islanders summoned the former WHLer in the early stages of the 2005-06 NHL season.
