Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Jeff Tambellini
Jeff Tambellini was born April 13, 1984 in Calgary, Alberta. The first round, 27th overall selection of the Los Angeles Kings in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Tambellini is a graduate of the BCHL's Chilliwack Chiefs.

An offensively gifted forward, Tambellini played two seasons in the BCHL before enrolling at the University of Michigan in the fall of 2002. Upon his arrival at Michigan, Tambellini went on to lead the team in scoring as a freshman (26-19-45) and over the course of his three years with the school registered 129 points (65-64-129) while capturing numerous honours, including; CCHA Rookie of the Year, CCHA All-Rookie Team and CCHA Second Team All-Star honours.

After opting to forego his senior year at the University of Michigan, Tambellini went on to make his professional debut with the AHL's Manchester Monarchs in 2005-06 and following some strong play was summoned by the Los Angeles Kings. Despite his strong play in Manchester and with the Kings, Tambellini was part of package deal that was sent to the New York Islanders in exchange for skilled forward Mark Parrish and defenseman Brent Sopel.

After appearing in just 36 games for the Islanders in 2009-10 and registering 14 points, Tambellini signed with the Vancouver Canucks on July 1, 2010, inking a one-year deal.
