Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Marc Pouliot
Marc-Antoine Pouliot was born May 22, 1985 in Quebec City, Quebec. The first round, 22nd overall selection of the Edmonton Oilers in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Pouliot is a graduate of the QMJHL's Rimouski Oceanic.

An offensively gifted forward, Pouliot played four seasons in Rimouski registering 268 points (111-157-268) while leading the Oceanic to the QMJHL title in 2005 and the Memorial Cup final later that spring. Unfortunately, Pouliot and the Oceanic came up short in the final against a highly touted London Knights team.

Following an impressive junior career, Pouliot made his professional debut in 2005-06 with the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs while seeing his first action with the Oilers in the latter stages of the season.

After spending the majority of his time in the Oilers' organization in the American Hockey League, Pouliot signed with the Tampa Bay Lightning as a free agent on July 23, 2010.

After just one season with Tampa, spent primarily with the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL, Pouliot was traded to the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for a seventh round draft choice.
