Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Eric Perrin
Eric Perrin was born November 1, 1975 in Laval, Quebec. A free agent signing of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the summer of 2003, Perrin played four seasons at the University of Vermont (1993-94 to 1996-97) and ranks first in games played (142), goals (107), and GWG (18) and second in assists (149), points (256) and PPG (36).

A diminutive forward, Perrin won numerous honours while at UVM. He was a Hobey Baker finalist and NCAA All-American in 1996, he was named the ECAC Player of the Year in 1996, he was chosen as an ECAC All-Star in 1995, 1996 and 1997, while being named to the ECAC All-Rookie Team in 1994 and named the ECAC Rookie of the Year that same year.

Coming off a more than impressive collegiate career, Perrin spent the next three years in the IHL, with stops in Cleveland, Quebec and Kansas City before opting to head overseas in 2000-01. Perrin went on to play three seasons in Finland before his former UVM teammate and close friend Martin St. Louis of the Tampa Bay Lightning put in a good word for him with Tampa Bay management. In the summer of 2003, Perrin signed as a free agent with Tampa Bay and spent the better part of the season with the AHL's Hershey Bears before being called up by Tampa Bay in the latter stages of the 2003-04 season and seeing action in 12 games in the post season as Tampa Bay went on to capture its first Stanley Cup in franchise history.

Over the next two seasons with Tampa, Perrin would register 36 points (13 goals, 23 assists) in 86 career games with the club before signing a multi-year contract with the Atlanta Thrashers in the summer of 2007.
