Lynn Loyns was born February 21, 1981 in Naicam, Saskatchewan. A free-agent signing by the San Jose Sharks in 2001, Loyns is a graduate of the WHL's Spokane Chiefs.
In four seasons with Spokane, Loyns tallied 72 goals and 185 points in 258 games before making his professional debut with the AHL's Cleveland Lumberjacks in 2001-02. Upon his arrival in Cleveland, the Naicam, Saskatchewan native played parts of two seasons with the Lumberjacks before making his NHL debut during the 2002-03 season.
After parts of three seasons with San Jose, Loyns was acquired by the Calgary Flames in the early stages of the 2003-04 season. Upon his arrival with the Flames, the former Spokan Chief went to split his time between Calgary and the AHL's Lowell Lock Monsters.
