Benoit Dusablon was born August 1, 1979 in Ste-Anne-de-la-Perad, Quebec. A graduate of the QMJHL, Dusablon is an offensive forward, who played four seasons in the QMJHL with stops in Halifax and Val dOr before signing as a free agent with the New York Rangers in the summer of 2002.

Following a four-year career in the QMJHL which saw him register 291 points (111-180-291), Dusablon made his professional debut in 2000-01, splitting his season with the ECHLs Johnstown Chiefs and Tallahassee Tiger Sharks. In 2001-02, Dusablon split his season yet again with Johnstown and the AHLs Hartford Wolf Pack before joining the Rangers organization later that fall.

Dusablon went on to play to play the better part of the next two seasons with the Wolf Pack before making his NHL debut with the Rangers in the latter stages of the 2003-04 season.

In the summer of 2004, Dusablon was acquired by the Montreal Canadiens.
