Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Jeff Hamilton
Jeff Hamilton was born September 4, 1977 in Englewood, Ohio. A free agent signing by the New York Islanders in the summer of 2002, Hamilton played collegiate hockey at Yale University before making his professional debut in 2001-02.

The diminutive forward played five seasons at Yale, registering 174 points (80-94-174) before opting to play in Finland in 2000-01, after receiving no offers from any NHL teams. After one season in Finland, the New York Islanders signed the Englewood, Ohio native to his first NHL contract in the summer of 2002, and over the course of the next two seasons spent most of his time with the team's AHL affiliate in Bridgeport Sound before making his NHL debut with the Islanders during the 2003-04 season.

Hamilton would spend a season with the Hartford Wolfpack of the AHL before splitting parts of his next season with the New York Islanders and their AHL affiliate in Bridgeport.

In the summer of 2006, Hamilton was signed by the Chicago Blackhawks where he would score a career high 18 goals and 39 points with the club. His stint with the Blackhawks, although productive, was short lived as Hamilton signed as a free agent with the Carolina Hurricanes on July 1, 2007.
