Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Adam Burish
Adam Burish was born January 6, 1983 in Madison, Wisconsin. The ninth round, 282nd overall selection of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Burish is a graduate of University of Wisconsin.

A hard-working two way forward, Burish captained the University of Wisconsin to an NCAA Championship in his senior season. He made his NHL debut on October 14, 2006 and went on to appear in eight more games with the Blackhawks. After going scoreless in nine games with the Blackhawks, Burish spent 64 games with the club's AHL affiliate in Norfolk.

Always a difficult player to play against, Burish posted 214 penalty minutes in his first full NHL season, though in 2008-09 he was limited to only 66 games and posted just 93 penalty minutes.

The 2009-10 season would end triumphantly for Burish and the Blackhawks when they defeated the Philadelphia Flyers in six games to capture the club's first Stanley Cup championship since 1961.

Internationally, Burish represented USA at the 2008 World Championships.

In June of 2010 Burish was part of the Stanley Cup-winning Chicago Blackhawks club that ended the franchises 49 year cup victory drought. Burish would appear in 15 playoff games for the club en route to the championship.

On July 1, 2010, Burish signed on with the Dallas Stars as an unrestricted free agent, inking a two-year deal.
