Joey Crabb was born April 3, 1983 in Anchorage, Alaska and was drafted by the New York Rangers in 2002.

Crabb played for Colorado College of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) and the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League. He scored his first NHL goal on December 10, 2008 in a game against the New York Rangers.

In the summer of 2010, Crabb was sent to the newly crowned Stanley Cup champion, Chicago Blackhawks as part of a multi-player trade.
