Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- D.J. King
D.J. King was born June 27, 1984 in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. The sixth round, 190th overall selection of the St. Louis Blues, King honed his skills in the WHL.

A hard-hitting left winger, King split his final year of junior hockey between Lethbridge and Kelowna of the Western Hockey League, recording 30 points in 63 games played. In his first season of professional hockey, King competed in 74 games with the Blues' AHL affiliate in Worcester and led the club with 178 penalty minutes. After yet another season in the AHL, King made his NHL debut on October 5th, 2007 with St. Louis, but spent most of his time that year in the minors.

After failing to see much ice-time with the Blues in 2009-10, King was dealt to the Washington Capitals in exchange for Stefan Della Rovere.
