Mike Bishai was born May 30, 1985 in Portage La Prairie, Alberta. A free-agent signing by the Edmonton Oilers in the spring of 2002, Bishai is a graduate of Western Michigan University.

Following a successful collegiate career, in which he tallied 146 points (51-95-146), Bishai made his professional debut with the AHLs Hamilton Bulldogs in the spring of 2002. In his first full season as a professional, the Portage La Prairie, Alberta native split the year between Hamilton and Columbus of the ECHL.

In 2003-04, Bishai spent the majority of the year in Hamilton, yet managed to make his NHL debut with the parent club in Edmonton during the regular season.

Bishai has since continued to toil in the AHL returing to the Oilers farm club before going on to compete with the San Antonio Rampage.
