Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- PA Parenteau
Pierre Parenteau was born March 24, 1983 in Hull, Quebec. The ninth round, 264th overall selection of the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, Parenteau is a graduate of the QMJHL's Moncton Wildcats, Chicoutimi Saguenéens and Sherbrooke Castors. A high-scoring QMJHL star, Parenteau made his professional hockey debut with the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks where he tallied 30 points in 66 games. After a few seasons with the Mighty Ducks' AHL affiliate in Cincinnati and Portland, Parenteau was dealt to Chicago by Anaheim with Bruno St. Jacques in exchange for Sebastien Caron, Matt Keith and Chris Durno on December 28, 2006. As a member of the Chicago Blackhawks, Parenteau would make his NHL debut on February 7, 2007.

The following season, Parenteau was dealt to another orginial six franchise on October 11, 2007. The trade sent the former Moncton Wildcat to the New York Rangers in exchange for a conditional 7th-round draft pick.

On July 2, 2010, as an unrestricted free agent, Parenteau switched sides of the New York rivalry when he signed on with the Islanders, inking a one year deal.

Parenteau had two successful seasons in Long Island, which led him to be rewarded by a four year contract offer by the Colorado Avalanche prior to the 2012-13 season. After two seasons in Colorado, Parenteau was traded to the Montreal Canadiens for Daniel Briere.

After struggling to make the lineup in Montreal, the Candiens bought out the remainder of his contract after one season. As a free agent he was signed to a one year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs for the 2015-16 season.

Parenteau would appear in 77 games for the Maple Leafs during the 2015-16 season, reaching the 20-goal plateau for the second time in his career. A free agent once again in the summer of 2016, Parenteau signed with the New Jersey Devils on October 11. He would appear in 59 games for the club, scoring 13 goals, before being traded to the Nashville Predators at the NHL trade deadline.
