Timo Parssinen was born January 19, 1977 in Lohja, Finland. The 4th choice, 102nd overall selection of the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Parssinen played his last three seasons in the Finnish Elite League with HPK Hameenlinna.
The Lohja, Finland native was voted to the Second All-Star Team at the 2001 World Championships as a member of Team Finland and led HPK in goals and ranked second in points during the 99-2000 season.
An offensively gifted player, Parssinen came to North America in 2001-02 and joined the Ducks AHL affiliate in Cincinnati where he finished sixth in team scoring with 38 points and played in 17 games with the parent club. Parssinen returned to Finland for the 2002-03 season to play for HIFK Helsinki, and upon his return to Finland has maintained his offensive ways.
On the international stage, Parssinen is a four-time member of Finland's World Championship team (2001, 2002, 2004 and 2005).
