Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Evgeny Artyukhin
Evgeny Artyukhin was born April 4, 1983 in Moscow, Russia. The third round, 94th overall selection of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Artyukhin honed his skills in his homeland before making his North American debut with QMJHL's Moncton Wildcats in 2002-03.

A hulking-winger, Artyukhin played one season in Moncton registering 40 points (13-27-40) and over 200 PIMS before making his professional debut with the AHL's Hershey Bears in 2003-04. Although he spent the majority of the season in Hershey, Artyukhin saw limited action with the ECHL's Pensacola Ice Pilots. After one more year of seasoning in the AHL with the Springfield Falcons, the burly winger made his NHL debut with Tampa during the 2005-06 season.

On the international stage, Artyukhin was a member of Russia gold medal winning World Junior team in 2003.

On August 13, 2009, the big winger was traded to Anaheim in exchange for Drew Miller and a 3rd round choice in 2010 Entry Draft.

On March 1, 2010, in the days leading up to the NHL trade deadline, Atryukhin was on the move again. This time being sent to the Atlanta Thrashers in exchange for Nathan Oystrick.
