Jeff Woywitka was born September 1, 1983 in Vermilion, Alberta. The first round, 27th overall selection of the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Woywitka is a graduate of the WHL's Red Deer Rebels.
An offensive defenseman, Woywitka played four seasons in Red Deer helping the club capture the 2001 Memorial Cup title. Following an impressive junior career, Woywitka suited up for the the AHL's Philadelphia Phantoms in 2003-04 where he played in 29 games with the club before being acquired by the Edmonton Oilers in December, 2003.
The former WHLer continued to hone his skills it the Edmonton farm system before having his rights dealt to the St. Louis Blues in the summer of 2005, in a deal that saw former Hart Trophy winner Chris Pronger head to Edmonton.
During the 2005-06 season, Woywitka made his NHL debut with the Blues while seeing the majority of ice time with the club's AHL affiliate in Peoria.
In the summer of 2009, Jeff became an unrestricted free agent and signed on with the Dallas Stars.
