Darcy Verot was born July 13, 1976 in Radville, Saskatchewan. A free agent signing of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the summer of 2000, Verot is a graduate of the SJHLs Weyburn Red Wings.
A hard-nosed forward, Verot played three seasons with Weyburn before turning professional in 99-2000. Upon signing with Pittsburgh in the summer of 2000, Verot split his first season as a pro with the AHLs Wilkes-Barre Penguins and the ECHLs Wheeling Nailers. The Radville, Saskatchewan native went on to play two more seasons in Wilkes-Barre before signing as a free agent with the Calgary Flames in the summer of 2002. After one season with the Flames AHL affiliate in Saint John, Verot landed in Washington in 2003-04 and split his time between the Caps and the team's AHL affiliate in Portland.
Following a season in Portland in 2004-05, Verot signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets and competed with their AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch. After two seasons in Syracuse, Verot joined Vityaz Chekhov of the Russian Super League in 2007.
