Andrej Nedorost was born April 30, 1980 in Trencin, Slovakia. The 10th choice, 286th overall selection of the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, Nedorost spent two seasons in Germany with Essen before joining Plzen of the Czech Republic Extra League in 2000-01.
The Trencin, Slovakia native came to North America in 2001-02 and joined Columbus' AHL affiliate in Syracuse where in 37 games with the Crunch he tallied 18 points, while suiting up for seven games with the Blue Jackets.
Over the course of the next two seasons, Nedorost continued to hone his skills between Columbus Blue Jackets and Syracuse, before opting to join the Russian Elite League in the latter stages of the 2003-04 season.
