David Morisset was born April 6, 1981 in Langley, British Columbia. The 2nd round choice, 65th overall selection of the St. Louis Blues in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, Morisset is a graduate of the Western Hockey League's Seattle Thunderbirds.

The right winger from Langley, British Columbia spent four seasons in Seattle before making his professional debut in 2001-02 with the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers. After scoring only 12 points in his first two seasons with Seattle, Morisset broke out in his last two seasons scoring 57 points and 68 points respectively while representing the WHL West All-Stars in the 2001 Hershey Cup CHL All-Star Series.

In February of 2001, the St. Louis Blues traded Morisset to the Florida Panthers before he had even played a single game for the Blues organization.

In his first season with the Panthers organization, Morisset spent the majority of the season in Bridgeport of the AHL scoring 19 points on nine goals and ten assists while playing in a handful of games with the parent club. Morisset returned to the AHL for the 2002-03 season with the San Antonio Rampage.

Missed majority of 1998-99 due to shoulder injury suffered in practice, November, 1998. Rights traded to Florida by St. Louis with St. Louis' 5th round pick (Vince Bellissimo) in 2002 NHL Draft for Scott Mellanby, February 9, 2001.
Missed majority of 200-03 season and entire 2003-04 due to shoulder injury vs. Norfolk (AHL), December 18, 2002. Signed as a free agent by Houston (AHL), September 25, 2004.
