Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Brad Winchester
Brad Winchester was born March 1, 1981 in Madison, Wisconsin. The second round, 35th overall selection of the Edmonton Oilers in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, Winchester is a graduate of the US National U-18 program.

After two seasons with the US U-18 program, Winchester enrolled at the University of Wisconsin in the fall of 1999 and went to play four seasons at the school registering 35 goals and 24 assists for 59 points. In the fall of 2003 Winchester made his professional debut with the AHL's Toronto Roadrunners and went to play two seasons within the organization before making his NHL debut with Edmonton in 2005-06.

As a member of the Edmonton Oilers, the left winger made his playoff debut during the club's incredible run to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2006.

His stretch with the Oilers organization came to an end in the summer of 2007 when the Madison, Wisconsin native signed a one-year contract with the Dallas Stars. Winchester appeared in 41 games with the Stars in the 2007-08 season but struggled to produce offensively with the club.

He found himself on the move again in the summer of 2008, signing as an unrestricted free agent with the St. Louis Blues.

On February 28, 2011, the NHL traded deadline, Winchester's time in St. Louis would come to an end. He was shipped to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for a third round draft pick.
