Brent Krahn was born on April 2, 1982 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Following a succesful junior career in the WHL where he tended goal for the Calgary Hitmen and Seattle Thunderbirds, he was the second goaltender selected in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft by the Calgary Flames.
Since his junior career, Krahn spent the majority of his professional life in the American Hockey League within the Flames organization. After 8 years within the Flames system, he signed with the Dallas Stars in September of 2004, with whom he would make his NHL debut in February of 2009 against the Chicago Blackhawks.
