Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Greg Classen
The hamlet of Aylsham, Saskatchewan boasts a population of 150, and can now state with pride that it has sent a resident to the NHL. That player is Greg Classen, who was born August 24, 1977. Classen attended Merrimack College and was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team in 1998-99. Following the 1999-2000 season, Greg was signed as a free agent by the Nashville Predators. 2000-2001 saw Classen split the season between Milwaukee of the IHL and the parent Predators, playing his first NHL game opening night, October 7, 2000 in a contest between Nashville and Pittsburgh that took place in Japan. Classen opened the 2001-2002 season with Milwaukee, but was called up to play with the Predators for the bulk of the season. In 2002-2003, Greg split the year between the NHL and IHL.

Over four years Classen made stops in Milwaukee twice and found himself competing overseas in Finland and Germany.
