Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Mike Green
Mike Green was born August 23, 1979 in Victoria, British Columbia. An unrestricted free-agent signing of the Florida Panthers in the latter stages of the 99-2000 season, Green is a graduate of the WHL's Edmonton/Kootenay Ice (1996-2000)

An offensively gifted forward who tallied 213 points (92-121-213) finishing his career as the franchises all-time leading scorer while leading the Ice to the 2000 WHL title and birth in the 2000 Memorial Cup tournament.

Coming off a successful junior career, Green split his first professional season between the AHL's Louisville Panthers, the UHL's Port Huron Border Cats and Knoxville Speed before moving on to the AHL's Cincinnati Mighty Ducks and the ECHL's Macon Whoopee in 2001-02. In 2002-03, Green spent the entire season with the AHL's San Antonio Rampage before making his NHL debut with Florida in 2003-04. After spending the better part of the 2003-04 season in the AHL, Green was claimed off of waivers by the New York Rangers at the trade deadline.

Green would compete in 13 games with the Rangers before spending the next two years of his hockey career competing with a pair of clubs in Germany.

In the summer of 2006 Green was traded to the Dallas Stars. He would split his 2006-07 season between the Dallas' AHL affiliate in Iowa and see time with the Hershey Bears before returning to the German League in 2007.
