Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Wyatt Smith
Born in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, Wyatt Smith starred at Warroad High School before moving on to the University of Minnesota in the fall of 1995.

Over the course of his four seasons at Minnesota, Smity accumulated 67 goals for the Golden Gophers then scored 14 times as a rookie with the AHL's Springfield Indians in 1999-00. Over the course of his first three seasons as a professional, Smith split his time between Phoenix and Springfield, before signing as a free agent with the Nashville Predators in the summer of 2002.

Upon his arrival with Preds', Smith continued to hone his skills in the AHL with the Milwaukee Admirals, where he captured a Calder Cup title in 2004, while seeing limited action with Nashville.

In the Summer of 2005, Smith was acquired by the New York Islanders. Smith would split his season between the Islanders and the club's AHL affiliate in Bridgeport. Following his stint with the Isles, Smith signed as a free agent with the Minnesota Wild where he would appear in a career-high 61 games with the club during the 2006-07 season.

His stint with the Wild was short lived however, as the free-agent centreman singed a one-year deal with the Colorado Avalanche in the late summer of 2007.
