Tomas Divisek was born July 19, 1979 in Most, Czech Republic. The seventh round, 195th overall selection of the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, Divisek honed his skills in the Czech Republic with Slavia Praha HC before making his North American debut in 1999-00.
Upon his arrival in North America, Divisek spent the better part of his first three seasons with the AHL's Philadelphia Phantoms while playing a handful of games with the parent club. In the latter stages of the 2001-02 season Divisek joined the AHL's Springfield Falcons before opting to return to the Czech Republic in 2002-03.
