Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Andre Savage
Centre Andre Savage played two years in the Ontario Central Junior Hockey League with the Gloucester Rangers before enrolling at Michigan Tech, where he played for the Huskies for four years. As a senior in 1997-98 he tallied 41 points in 33 games and was named to WCHA First All-Star Team.

The Boston Bruins liked what they saw in Savage, who had good skating and passing skills and signed him to a free-agent contract in the summer of 1998. Savage played a total of 50 NHL games with the Bruins over the course of three seasons, scoring eight goals and 21 points.

Savage had his best goal-scoring season as a pro in 2001-02 when he bulged the twine on 35 occasions while skating for the Manitoba Moose of the AHL and finished just one point behind Steve Kariya for the overall team lead.

On August 2, 2002, Savage signed with the Philadelphia Flyers as a free agent and went on to play parts of two seasons with the Flyers organization before spending the majority of 2003-04 season with the AHL's Providence Bruins. In the summer of 2004, the former Michigan Tech star was acquired by the Colorado Avalanche.
