Right-winger Matt Henderson played two games for the Nashville Predators in 1998-99. After a fine amateur career he struggled to rise above the minor league level.
Born in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, Henderson starred in the USHL with the St. Paul Vulcans in 1993-94 then spent four years at the University of North Dakota. In 1997 he led the Fighting Sioux to the NCAA title and was named the tournament MVP and placed on its all-star team.
Apart from his two game appearance in the NHL, Henderson played most of his rookie pro season with the Milwaukee Admirals of the IHL. Prior to the 1999-00 season he was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers but saw all of ice time in the AHL and ECHL. In 2000-01 he scored 14 goals for the Norfolk Admirals and played a solid all round game in the hope of receiving another chance in the NHL.
