Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Mike Siklenka
Mike Siklenka was born December 18, 1979 in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. The fifth round, 118th overall selection of the Washington Capitals in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, Siklenka is a graduate of the WHL's Seattle Thunderbirds.

The hulking forward spent two seasons with Seattle before making his professional debut in 99-2000. During his first season of professional hockey, Siklenka split his season between the ECHL's Hampton Roads Admirals and the AHL's Portland Pirates. After two more seasons of sharing his time in the ECHL (Richmond) and the AHL (Portland), Siklenka became a member of the Philadelphia Flyers in 2002.

Upon his arrival in Philadelphia, Siklenka spent the majority of the 2002-03 season with the AHL's Philadelphia Phantoms, while making his NHL debut later that season with the parent club. After only one season in the Flyers organization Siklenka was acquired by the New York Rangers and split the first half of the 2003-04 season between the Rangers, the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, the ECHL's Trenton Titans and the AHL's Philadelphia Phantoms before being acquired by the Dallas Stars.

Upon his arrival with the Stars organization, Siklenka was assigned to the AHL's Utah Grizzlies and spent the 2004-05 season with Klangenfurt AC of the Austrian League.
