Mike Pandolfo was born September 15, 1979 in Winchester, Massachusetts. The younger brother of New Jersey Devil Jay Pandolfo, Mike was the fifth pick, 77th overall of the Buffalo Sabres in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
A star player at St. Sebastiens High School, Pandolfo followed in his brother Jays footsteps when he enrolled at Boston University in the fall of 1998. Over the course of his four years at BU, Pandolfo registered 109 points (64-45-109) before making his professional debut with the AHLs Syracuse Crunch in 2002-03. Although, drafted by the Buffalo Sabres, Pandolfo was acquired by the Columbus Blue Jackets and after spending the better part of two seasons with the clubs AHL affiliate in Syracuse, Pandolfo made his NHL debut with the parent club in the latter stages of the 2003-04 season.
