Chris Corrinet was born October 29, 1978 in Derby, Connecticut. The 4th round, 107th overall selection of the Washington Capitals in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, Corrinet is a graduate of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference's Princeton Tigers.

The Derby, Connecticut native was a four year letter winner at Deerfield Academy in hockey and baseball and earned three letters in football before deciding to attend Princeton in the fall of 1997.

In four seasons with the Tigers, Corrinet finished with 74 points (36 goals, 38 assists) in 124 games before making his professional debut with the Caps AHL affiliate in Portland following Princeton's 2000-01 season.

In his first complete season in the AHL, Corrinet finished second in team rookie scoring with 33 points (15 goals, 18 assists) in 51 games while playing in eight games with the parent club. Corrinet jumped around the AHL during the 2002-03 season, playing for the Portland Pirates, Philadelphia Phantoms and the Worcester IceCats.
