Drafted by Washington in 1991, Trevor Halverson took a roundabout route into a Caps sweater. He played for a number of different minor league teams before being claimed from Washington by Anaheim in the 1993 Expansion Draft. He then floated around the IHL and the AHL until being signed as a free agent in 1998 by the team that originally drafted him.
Halverson suited up for 17 games with the Capitals during the 1998-99 season and spent the rest of his time with the Portland Pirates of the AHL. Halverson suffered a head injury in training camp in September 1999 and missed the remainder of the season while recovering.
