Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Adam Mair
Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Adam Mair played Junior B with the Oshweken Eagles before spending four years with the OHL's Owen Sound Platers. He was taken 84th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs and played for Canada at the 1999 World Junior Championships. Late in the 1998-99 season he was recalled to play five playoff games when Toronto reached the semifinals.

Mair spent most of his first two pro seasons with the AHL's St. John's Maple Leafs and was recalled briefly both years by the parent club. Prior to the March trade deadline Mair was sent to the Los Angeles Kings with a draft pick for defenceman Aki Berg. Mair was solid in ten late season games with his new club and would split the 2001-02 season with the Kings and their AHL affiliate in Manchester.

After only a little over one season with the Kings organization, Mair was dealt to the Buffalo Sabres in the summer of 2003. Upon his arrival with the Sabres, Mair continued his hard nosed play and established at the time a career-high 20 points (6-14-20).

In Buffalo, Mair continued his hard-hitting approach to the game. His work ethic and physical play made him a fan favorite and his willingness to stick up for his teammates has made him popular in the Sabres dressing room.
