Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Scott Parker
Scott Parker was born January 29, 1978 in Hanford, California. Originally drafted by the New Jersey Devils in 1996, Parker re-entered the draft in 1998 after the Devils we're unable to sign the 6'4", 220 lbs right winger. Upon re-entering the draft the Colorado Avalanche selected Parker with their 4th choice, 20th overall.

A graduate of the Alaska Amateur Hockey League, the Hanford, and California native suited up for the KIJHL's Spokane Braves in 1994-95 before joining the WHL's Kelowna Rockets the following year.

Parker went on to play three seasons in Kelowna, racking up over 700 minutes in penalties while be selected as the WHL's Most Improved Player during the 1997-98 season, after setting a career high in goals with 30 and improving on his overall play.

In 1998-99 Parker split his season between Colorado and their AHL affiliate in Hershey before returning to the Bears line-up the following two seasons.

Parker rejoined the Avalanche in 2000-01 and went to capture his first Stanley Cup as the Avalanche ousted the defending champs from New Jersey in a hard-fought seven game series. The former Kelowna junior went on to play two more seasons with the Avs before having his rights dealt to the San Jose Sharks in the summer of 2003.

As a member of the San Jose Sharks in the 2006-07 season, Parker would see action in 12 games and miss 20 due to injury. His stint with the Sharks came to an end at the 2007 NHL trading deadline as Parker was dealt to his former club in Colorado in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick
