Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Juha Lind
Since entering the NHL in 1997-98, centre Juha Lind has been a utility player on the Dallas Stars and Montreal Canadiens. He attained most of his success as a fine domestic and international competitor in his native Finland.

The Helsinki native played in Division 2 with Vantaa HT and the Jokerit junior club before earning a place with the senior Jokerit squad. Lind was selected 178th overall by the Minnesota North Stars in 1992 but he opted to remain in Finland. The talented forward helped Jokerit win the Finnish title in 1994, 1996 and 1997. During this time his NHL rights were transferred to the Dallas Stars when the Minnesota franchise relocated in 1993.

Lind played 39 games with Dallas as an NHL rookie in 1997-98 but the club was deep at forward. He helped his country win the bronze medal at the Nagano Olympics then returned to Jokerit for the 1998-99 season. Lind opted to give the NHL another chance in 1999-00 and was a solid role player for the Stars before he was sent to the Montreal Canadiens for Scott Thornton. Lind played 47 games for the weak Habs in 2000-01 but averaged less than eight minutes per game.
