Tom Younghans played his collegiate hockey with the University of Minnesota from 1974 to 1976 and was signed as a free agent by the Minnesota North Stars in 1976.
Younghans has a wealth of international experience representing the United States at the World Hockey championships in 1976, 1977, and 1978. He also played for the United States in the 1981 Canada Cup tournament.
He made his NHL debut with the North Stars in 1976 and played with the team until he was traded to the New York Rangers early into the 1981 season. He completed his professional hockey career with the Springfield Indians of the AHL in 1982.
