Nick Wasnie played six years in the NHL during a pro career that spanned from 1925 to 1940. His first taste of the NHL came in the 1927-28 season when he dressed for 16 games with the Chicago Blackhawks.

The bulk of his NHL tenure began in 1929 when he played three years for the Montreal Canadiens. The Habs won the Stanley Cup in the first two years he played for the club. He spent the 1993-34 season with the Ottawa Senators, and his last season in the NHL was in 1934-35 when he appeared with the St. Louis Eagles.

His best season from an offensive perspective was in 1929-30, when he had 12 goals and eleven assists for 23 points in 44 games.

Wasnie also suited up for the Quebec Beavers and the Newark Bulldogs of the CAHA in the early stages of his pro career and spent his last four pro seasons in the AHA with the Kansas City Greyhounds. His most productive year there was in 1938-39 when he collected 34 goals and 27 assists for 61 points in just 48 games.

Wasnie's final NHL totals included 250 games played, 57 goals, 34 assists, 91 points, and 176 minutes in penalties.
