Defenseman Spence Tatchell played one game with the New York Rangers in 1942-43. He was a fine skater and playmaker who played most of his career with the senior Kootenay League in western Canada.
Born in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, Tatchell played junior in Winnipeg with the Rangers and Monarchs. In 1942-43 he played a game with the Rangers and was a solid a ddition to the defence corps of the EHL's New York Rovers. In 1943-44 he played with the Cornwallis Navy then spent a year in military service.
After the War, Tatchell joined the Nelson Maple Leafs of the Kootenay League for five years. After several seasons with the Kimberley Dynamiters in the Kootenay and WIHL, he retired in 1954.
